CSU STEM VISTA Strengthens Alumni Relationships
As the CSU STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) VISTA program supports its 100th volunteer, we are launching a new initiative aimed to help alumni stay connected. Advancing the CSU’s commitment to inclusivity, equity and student success in STEM, each VISTA volunteer provided 40 hours per week for a full year in support of a specific campus program. Our VISTA volunteers have helped campus host sites launch peer mentoring programs, expand partnerships with K-12 schools, develop academic enrichment trainings and workshops, and establish academic internship and research opportunities for women, first generation, low-income and students of color in STEM.
Our new focus on STEM VISTA alumni aims to connect our alumni to the CSU STEM VISTA network, and to each other, wherever they are in their life now. We hope this effort will foster mutually beneficial professional relationships by enhancing networking of alumni, future alumni, and friends. Whatever they're seeking, be it CSU STEM VISTA events and connections, opportunities for professional development, a job lead or connection to a caring community that values educational equity, we’ve got it. Follow us on Instagram @csustemvista as we roll out this new initiative in the coming months!
